Are Your Alloy Wheels Ready for Ceramic Coating?

Check the finish and condition before requesting a quote. Ceramic protection can make suitable wheels easier to clean, but it will not hide kerb damage or repair a failing finish.

Use the checklist

What to check on each wheel

Tick what you can see. You do not need to identify the exact finish yourself; clear photographs let us advise on preparation and coating suitability.

What the result means

Sound finish, normal road dirt

The wheels may be suitable after cleaning, decontamination and inspection. We will confirm a coating compatible with the finish and the areas we can reach.

Kerb damage or failing lacquer

Coating will not repair or conceal damage. Refurbishment may be the sensible first step; we can assess the wheels once the finish is sound.

Wheel coating products vary by finish. For example, Gtechniq lists compatible gloss, satin and matte wheel finishes for its wheel kit. The product selected for your vehicle must be checked against your actual wheel finish.

Photos that help us quote accurately

  1. Take one clear photo of each complete wheel in daylight.
  2. Add close-ups of kerb damage, corrosion, peeling or previous repairs.
  3. Photograph the spaces between the spokes and the visible inner barrel if possible.
  4. Tell us the car model, your location and whether the wheels are newly refurbished.

Coating helps resist brake dust and road grime, but wheels still need suitable regular cleaning. See our general coating aftercare checklist for safe wash principles.
