Why Ceramic Coating?

What Does Ceramic Coating Do?

A ceramic coating forms a durable protective layer over properly prepared paintwork. It can improve gloss, water behaviour and resistance to everyday contamination, while making routine washing easier.

We apply Gyeon Q² Mohs EVO, a single-stage professional coating, as part of our from-£450 paint enhancement and coating package. Additional correction is quoted separately once the vehicle has been assessed.

The coating is only as good as the preparation underneath it. That's why we assess the vehicle first and recommend the level of preparation needed rather than treating every car the same. If the paintwork has swirl marks or visible defects, our paint correction and machine polishing service may be recommended before the coating is applied.

01

Enhanced Gloss

Proper preparation and ceramic protection can leave paintwork with a deeper, cleaner and more refined appearance.

02

Easier Maintenance

Hydrophobic behaviour can help water and everyday contamination move away from the surface more readily.

03

Long-Term Protection

A professionally applied coating provides a longer-lasting protective finish than a conventional wax alone.

Our Process

Our Ceramic Coating Process Starts With Preparation

We don't simply wash a vehicle and apply a coating. The condition of the paint determines the preparation required.

1. Vehicle Assessment We inspect the paintwork and discuss how the vehicle is used, maintained and what you want to achieve.
2. Safe Wash & Decontamination The vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and chemically decontaminated to prepare the surface.
3. Machine Polishing Where Required Existing defects and paint condition are assessed. Machine polishing can be recommended where it will improve the final result.
4. Ceramic Coating Application The prepared paintwork is coated with Gyeon Q² Mohs EVO and must stay dry for the first 12 hours of curing. Where suitable, we use a sided tent for extra protection during this period, and bookings are planned around weather conditions to protect the cure.
What Ceramic Coating Can & Can't Do

What Ceramic Coating Can — and Can't — Do

It Can Help With

Gloss, water behaviour, easier maintenance and protection from everyday environmental contamination.

It Won't Prevent

Stone chips, deep scratches or all physical damage. A coating should not be sold as an invisible armour layer.

Preparation Matters

Applying a coating over neglected or heavily marked paint can lock in imperfections. We assess the surface first.

Curing Takes 12 Hours

Gyeon Q² Mohs EVO needs to stay dry for the first 12 hours after application. Bookings are planned around suitable weather, with rescheduling where dry curing conditions can't be maintained.

Ceramic Coating vs Wax

Ceramic Coating vs Wax

Wax can be an excellent short-term protection option and is often ideal for regular maintenance. Ceramic coating is aimed at owners looking for longer-lasting protection and easier maintenance.

The right choice depends on the vehicle, its condition, how it is used and how frequently you want to maintain it. We'll explain the options before any work begins.

Ceramic Coating Aftercare

How to Look After Your Ceramic Coating

Ceramic coating still needs proper maintenance. Safe washing methods, suitable products and regular maintenance help preserve the finish and water behaviour over time.

  • Use safe, paint-friendly washing methods.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals unless they are appropriate for the coating.
  • Keep the vehicle regularly maintained rather than allowing contamination to build up.
  • Follow the aftercare advice provided when the coating is installed.
  • Use our ceramic coating aftercare checklist for a practical wash and maintenance routine.
